The flag of American Samoa was adopted on April 27, 1960. It features a blue background with a white triangle edged in red pointing toward the hoist. A bald eagle, the symbol of the United States, holds a yellow uatogi (war club) and a fue (fly whisk), traditional symbols of Samoan chiefs.
